Obamacare. Making you more dependent on the government since 2010.
If you still think it’s a good thing, you’re either stupid or ignorant of facts.
- Obamacare has cost the United States a gross amount of money, both on the federal level and on the individual level:
- Obamacare has been the cause of rising premiums in the United States:
- Obama has lied to every American about how Obamacare will allow them to save almost $2,500 a year and keep their doctors, when in fact the opposite has been true millions losing their doctors while saving nothing.
- Obamacare was not designed to succeed. Obamacare was designed to create a big jumbled mess of the United States Healthcare system, so that eventually a Bernie Sanders or some other whack job could come along and say, “This Obamacare has been a mess the private sector simply doesn’t want to cooperate. We’ll just provide all your healthcare for you! Single payer, public healthcare, where everyone gets it for free and everyone gets the same care!”
Now, what is single-payer publicly provided healthcare? It’s government owned and operated insurance at the expense of the taxpayer. That’s right Bernie fans, it is NOT free. You’ll see some tremendous tax hikes, particularly if you make $250,000 or more (not exactly the billionaires you thought were going to be taxed more huh?), in order to pay for everyone else’s “free healthcare”.
Obamacare has set the stage for Washington bureaucrats to tell you that the system has just become so complicated that they’re going to just simplify the whole thing and take healthcare over completely. You won’t be able to keep your doctor, and you won’t be able to keep your plan. There will be ONE plan for EVERYONE.
So, if I have more money than you because I worked harder last year (or the year before that, or the year before that), and I want to pay for a more extensive and expensive healthcare plan, shouldn’t I be allowed to? That is liberty isn’t it? That’s true economic freedom isn’t it? Not according to the good ol’ Federal Government. Unfortunately, the left has conceived this idea that everyone is “equal”, but not in the right way.
Yes, everyone is equal in dignity. Everyone is a human person who has essential rights, among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. If I have the liberty to choose where I buy my groceries from, I damn well better have the liberty to choose where I buy my Healthcare from. If I can choose what kind of car insurance I want, I should be able to choose what kind of Healthcare I want (especially seeing how my car isn’t even CLOSE to as important as my health). NOT everyone is equal in social or economic standing, because not everyone is equal in luck, intelligence, creativity, productivity, ingenuity, or common sense. There will ALWAYS be wealth inequality, because there will always be inequalities in the talents that create wealth.
Obamacare has paved the way for the government to reach their hand further into your pocket, under the premise of “taking care of you”. You know what other governments did that? Soviet Russia, the Castro Regime in Cuba, the People’s “Republic” of Korea (North Korea), “insert names of other failed Socialist/Communist Regimes”.
If the United States wants to become like the rest of the world, then go ahead and institute single-payer and hope to God the government isn’t corrupt (in the few places where public healthcare has been successful, the governments in those places are ranked as some of the least corrupt in the world, Denmark being the most prominent example). But, we are not the rest of the rest of the world. We are meant to be the pioneers, not the followers. We are meant to promote LIBERTY ON ALL LEVELS, not just where the government sees fit, and that means the PEOPLE getting to choose THEIR OWN doctors, healthcare plans, and whatever else they want to pay for with their hard earned dollars.
Obamacare has been a failure, and it’s leading the country down a dangerous road. It’s time to wake up and smell the roses. It’s time to realize that Bernie, Obama, and all the other Obamacare advocates, have been smoking a little too much of the Soviet Russian Blend. Let’s get back to a free market. Let’s let the market determine how much healthcare should cost based on SUPPLY AND DEMAND. Let’s get government out of the way so we can be truly free to live our own lives. I leave you with two quotes:
“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.” – Thomas Jefferson
“Dependence begets subservience and venality, suffocates the germ of virtue, and prepares fit tools for the designs of ambition.” – Thomas Jefferson
